My Biography

I started playing guitar when I was in primary school mostly playing along to my dads old Lonnie Donegan records as well as strumming along to bands like Status Quo and The Human League. I learned early on a technique of using 2 reel to reel tape machines to bounce from one to another via a mixer and this was my first experimentation to multitrack recording. I was very disappointed as a student at college for 3 years studying computer electronics that I never formed or found a band, though in the last few months of college I met someone called Steven Howson whom I went to see The Sisters Of Mercy with at Birmingham NEC and shortly after we formed the band All Living Fear a band that I still maintain to this day.

All Living Fear started playing covers in Toquay and Exeter mostly of bands like The Sisters, The Cure and even Bronski Beat. I had by this time a Sansui 6 Track that I made demos with, I had a lot of ideas recorded between 1990-1991 none of these have ever been worked one, one day maybe I will revisit them. With Steven we wrote a few songs, the best being ‘the Living’ that finally saw a release on the ‘Fifteen Years After’.

After Steven left I carried on writing and made a lot of demos that eventually made the first 2 All Living Fear cds, by this time Andrew Racher was the bands vocalist and the most well known voice of the band. Through most of the 90s we toured the length and breath of the UK and made several albums. In 2001 I formed the electronic based rock band Corrosion with Paul Roe (was I was also in All Living Fear with) and we released the moderately successful NYAGA cd in 2004.

After Andrew left All Living Fear in 2009 I put a new line up of the band together and I took over on vocals, we played one tour and have released 2 download eps.

At the moment my main musical focus is a new band called ‘Secrets for September’ a progressive / space rock band and I am also playing a lot of gigs as a singer / songwriter something I enjoy a lot.

From the end of the 90s I have also been running the fan club for The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, I have also played the odd guest performance with Arthur as well as tour managing and front of house sound all these things I do to this day.

I also guest every Friday on the ‘Late Show’ with Vic Morgan on BBC radio in the South West where I talk about various bands and musicians that you don’t normally hear on the radio.
